PROGRAMS

Urban City Mentorship provides young men with consistent guidance, resources, and opportunities to help them succeed. Our programs are designed to address the real challenges young people face at home, in school, in the community, and within themselves.

Group Outings

Group outings are incentives for good grades and positive behavior. These outings give our young men opportunities to enjoy leisure activities while learning how to behave responsibly in public settings.

Group outings are more than entertainment; they are opportunities for behavior coaching, skill development, and positive exposure. Many of our mentees get introduced to new places and experiences through these activities.

During Group Outings, youth learn how to follow rules, respect boundaries, conduct themselves in public, and enjoy themselves in healthy and appropriate ways.

Family Mediation Meetings

Family mediation meetings create spaces for families to better understand one another, express concerns, and discuss conflict in healthy ways.

These meetings help parents and children understand how their actions and words affect each other. They also help youth understand that their parents or caregivers may be doing the best they can with the resources they have. These meetings open lines of communication, encourage accountability, and help families move toward reconciliation.

Community Center Connect

Community Center Connect is a weekly program hosted at a local community center. This program, tailored to elementary schoolers, provides activities that promote life skills, positive behavior, and healthy relationships.

The unique part of Community Center Connect is that our middle schoolers help plan and facilitate the program. This gives older youth the opportunity to develop leadership skills while serving and being role models for younger students. Through this program, elementary students receive positive engagement, while middle and high schoolers learn responsibility, patience, communication, and teamwork.

One-on-One Mentorship

Individual sessions give our young men spaces to express themselves openly without pressure or judgement. These moments allow mentors to hear their thoughts, understand their challenges, and provide guidance and accountability in ways that make them feel understood and supported.

These sessions take place during meals, community events, and everyday activities.

Library Sessions

Library sessions provide  peaceful atmospheres for youth to study, focus on schoolwork, and receive academic support with limited distractions.

These sessions reinforce the importance of education, discipline, and consistency. By creating a quiet and structured environment, we help our young people build better study habits and achieve their academic goals.

I Need It Project

The I Need It Project provides clothing, toiletries, haircuts, and school supplies to mentees who need it. This project helps meet practical needs while preserving dignity. When young people have access to basic essentials, they are better prepared to focus on school, participate in activities, and show up with confidence.

Juvenile Detention Sessions

We mentor youth detained at juvenile detention centers and correctional facilities. Juvenile Detention Sessions allow us to provide hope and accountability to incarcerated youth during a critical time in their lives.

Juvenile Detention Sessions are unique in the sense that they allow us to work with youth while they are away from the distractions that may have kept them from being on task before incarceration. These meetings help young people reflect on their decisions, identify areas for growth, and prepare for success after release.

Transportation Support

Some of our young men need reliable support getting to and from school, work, practice, and appointments. We remove transportation obstacles by transporting them to those places. The removal of these barriers help them to stay connected to positive opportunities and handle their responsibilities.

Work Projects

Work projects give young people opportunities to build skills and gain real-world experience. These projects expose them to different fields, including construction, farming, videography, vehicle maintenance, lawn care, fundraising, and peer mentorship.

Some work projects are paid opportunities and others provide volunteer hours. Each project is designed to teach responsibility, discipline, teamwork, and practical skills. Through work projects, youth gain experience, build confidence, and learn the value of showing up, completing tasks, and being a part of something meaningful.
